Co(n)texts is presented as a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that encourages critical and innovative scholarship in language, literature and culture. The journal welcomes work that crosses geographical, historical and disciplinary boundaries.
Reimagining the Humanities
New Directions in Language, Literature and Culture
For the first issue, contributions that reconsider established approaches, engage with contemporary theory and offer fresh perspectives on texts, cultures and societies are especially encouraged. High-quality research in other areas covered by the journal is also welcome.

Submission Category
Research Papers Only
4,000–7,000 words including notes and references.
Submission Guidelines
- Manuscripts should be original and unpublished.
- Simultaneous submission to another publication is not permitted.
- Follow the MLA Handbook, 9th edition.
- Manuscripts should be anonymised for double-blind peer review.
- Include an abstract of 150–200 words and 5–7 keywords.
- Figures, tables and images should have suitable resolution and appropriate permissions.
Publication Ethics
The journal states that it follows high standards of publication ethics. Submitted work is subject to plagiarism screening and editorial assessment before peer review. Plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication or other academic misconduct may lead to rejection.
Open Access Policy
The journal follows a Diamond Open Access model. The notice states that authors and readers are not charged for submission, processing or publication, and published content is freely accessible.
